The Master and Exchange Reception (MER) is the reception for new master and exchange students at Uppsala University's Faculty of Technology. It invites you to activities to facilitate your transition to student life in Uppsala and gives you a good foundation for your new life here.
February 24th 2024
The Science Students' Ball is UTN's annual ball at Uppsala Castle where students, professors and officials enjoy a three-course dinner, first-class entertainment and inspiring speeches. Here, our Pedagogical Award is also given to a lecturer who distinguished himself, and the Medal of Merit to someone who particularly promoted the work of the union. The ball ends with a party.
April 30th
The River Rafting is an annual event organized by UTN. It is a cherished and long-awaited tradition that has been going on since 1975, and which attracts thousands of visitors from all over Sweden. What started as a bet between two friends today consists partly of a week-long festival and the ending run down to Fyrisån on Valborgsmäsoafton.
May 3rd—May 5th
Polhacks is a game festival dating back to 2011, organized every spring by the Uppsala Society of Technology and Science. It is a fun and social event with a focus on socialising and games that everyone can participate in and find something to enjoy. Whether you spend a lot of time gaming or if you have never played before, there will be something for you here.
August 25th—September 7th 2024
You who have chosen to study at the Faculty of Technology at Uppsala University, have made a phenomenally good choice that you will not regret. A week before the start of the semester, your incredible student adventure begins. We at UTN arrange a reception for you and the other approximately 1,200 new technology, computer science and basic year students starting at the Faculty of Technology.
August 25th—September 7th 2024
The Proprietorial Course in Mathematics is an opportunity for new students to both refresh their math skills and get an introduction to university studies, while getting to know their new class during the reception. Teachers give a total of ten lessons in everything from fractional division to trigonometric functions. The Proprietorial Course in Mathematics is arranged in cooperation with the Department of Mathematics.
September 28th
The Puzzle Hunt Rally is a packed day with activities around a track that is driven by car around Uppsala where students get to solve rebuses to get to the next stop. Before the rally, both online and at the Rally Pub, the tickets are raffled out, the winners get to participate and choose their team.
November 7th
Every year in November, about 100 companies exhibit at Utnarm to meet you as a student. This Career Fair is a perfect opportunity for you to meet and discuss, among other things, future careers, graduate jobs and summer jobs. In the two weeks before the start of the Career Fair, some selected companies also organise their own events — ranging from lunch lectures to workplace visits and case nights.
