UTN Educational Award 2025

The Uppsala teknolog- och naturvetarkår pedagogical award is awarded to a person working at the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Uppsala University. In particular, this person should have distinguished himself as a good teacher and shown good personal pedagogical renewal and commitment to students.

The Education Prize of the Uppsala Year of Technology and Science 2025 will be awarded during the Nature Science Ball 2026.

Benjamin Meco is a caring teacher who creates an open and welcoming atmosphere in the classroom where all questions are welcome.

His commitment to teaching mathematics in a way that makes all students, regardless of program, find the subject interesting and ultimately feel inspired to continue learning mathematics shines through in every lecture.

Benjamin's lectures are exciting, engaging and highlight the nuances of the subject in a fantastic way. His passion for teaching is further exemplified by his willingness to listen to student feedback and make adjustments to the course material in real time so that everyone in the lecture hall feels engaged regardless of academic background. In doing so, he creates a learning environment where students appreciate the mathematics they learn and understand even the most abstract concepts.
